| October 11, 2005 | | Critical components to a successful makeover: yoga - spin bike - accelerometer (pedometer) - dietary changes - med reduction - resistance training. | You seem to have all your bases covered with this latest addition to your arsenal - yoga. Every successful weight loss and disease reduction program, which has been documented to be successful, incorporates stress reduction as an important component. I, too, feel it is critical to long-term success. Jeff, it is great to see these recent yoga shots of you. It is true that a "picture speaks a hundred words". Not only does your form look spot on (considering your limitations) but you appear much more flexible than you let on to your readers. I won't mention your gymnast's physique (long arms, average torso and short legs), which gives the impression of greater flexibility than may actually be. I don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm. I am incredibly pleased with your dedication and desire to incorporate every possible component of a successful regression plan: - Stress Reduction and Flexibility Training in one: with yoga.
- Aerobic (CV) Exercise: your new spin bike, and walking with your new NL2000 accelerometer (pedometer).
- Strength (resistance) Training: twice a week weight workouts.
- Dietary Modifications: including reduce fructose (to lower plasma triglycerides) and increased supplemental fiber.
- Prescription Med Reduction: reduced levels of several Rx meds and removal of Glyburide (diabetes medication).
In an upcoming post I'll calculate your present biological age and begin to make additional modifications to your recent changes. I can't wait to see the 2006 picture - Metabolic Wiseman. | Topic Tags: accelerometer, aerobic exercise, biological age, dietary changes, flexibility training, health, Metabolic Wiseman, resistance training, spin bike, stress reduction, yoga | |
