Ask Jeff

A collection of frequently answered questions about medical alarm products and services.

I'm here to help you with questions about medical alarms, monitoring, and creating a safe environment for your loved-ones. You'll find many common questions below, but if you have a question that I haven't answered, write me - my email address is Jeffrey@SeniorSafety.com, and I'm happy to find the answers you need.

  1. Do you automatically call emergency medical people when I signal for help?
  2. Do you stay on the line with me until help arrives?
  3. What happens when I "push the button"?

Do you automatically call emergency medical people when I signal for help?

What happens when you push your button with a medical emergency.

No.

We listen to what you have to say...and then we act.

If you tell us that you don't want the emergency medical personnel called...maybe you just don't feel well... "Just call my daughter, or son, or whomever..."

That's what we'll do.

Help is Always Available

If we can't hear you... Or if you tell us it's more serious...we will dispatch your local emergency personnel immediately. We can, if needed, continue to talk to you until help actually walks through your front door.

Do you stay on the line with me until help arrives?

What happens after I push my medical alarm button.

Yes, we stay on the line till help arrives.

During the entire process from the moment we make contact with you, until the emergency personnel arrive, you won't be alone.

Once help is on the way...another of our operators will start calling a list of your family members or friends that you have previously told us you want notified...we'll tell them just what's happening...calmly.

This why you won't arrive at the hospital by yourself. A word to the wise, whether you choose our medical alarm system or another, don't let you or your loved ones live without this modern communication system. Don't wait till the problem becomes larger than necessary. You will never have to live in fear that you can't get help...ever again...

What happens when I "push the button"?

Do you immediately call 911 when I press my medical alert button?
Once the medical alert button is pushed, it contacts the Speaker Box that you plug into your phone jack and your electrical outlet, which then calls our 24 hour monitoring center. In about 40 seconds we know that you are in trouble...and we open a Voice to Voice channel...which means we can speak back and forth with you from basically wherever you are in your home without you ever touching the phone. We are talking to you through the Speaker Box. It has a very loud speaker, and supersensitive microphone. (It does not sound like a telephone conversation)
