        <Description>&lt;p&gt;So my very nice Rheumatoid Arthritis Doc named Swamy Venturupolli (Dr. V., Doc, or Swamy) gave me a &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;what for&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; yesterday for not having my blood sugar in line. And I know better.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'm going to employ &lt;a href="http://blog.seniorsafety.com/public/blog/95425"&gt;Dr. Eric Sternlicht's&lt;/a&gt; learned techniques along with Swamy's medical supervision, and Dr. Tony Hage, who is the Director of the UCLA Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program, to return my body to age 45 biologically from a chronological age of 57...from a current biological age of about 65.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;All right Merlin, let's start turning back the clock. &lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What you say?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt; How old am I now, &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;really&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;...what do my blood tests look like? What am I going to do to help ? &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Okay, okay...I got it&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;First, I've called&amp;nbsp;Dr. Eric to ask him which is the best stationary bike for my needs to start building back my cardiovascular fitness. My &lt;img alt="Dr. Eric Sternlicht, Ph.D." hspace="8" src="http://www.simplyfit.com/z_images/eric_s.jpg" align="right" vspace="8" border="0" /&gt;judgment should be questioned here...my exercise and nutrition guru is advising me to procure the Spin bike for my best results. Now I feel badly for him, but, this 2 times Masters National Cycling Champion, a few weeks ago thought he was a gymnast...flew over the handlebars at 35 mph (down hill)...fractured his pelvis in two places...along with various and sundry injuries. Should &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;I be listening to this man?&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; Indeed, he is the real deal...he just needs to remember which sport he is practicing...leave the high bar to us usetobe&amp;nbsp;gymnasts.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;While I'm rejuvinating my body...maybe Eric will tell us about what he is doing to mend as well. I never thought he would go to this extent to identify with his out of shape audience.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, stage one of this process is started. I'm ordering a Spin bike. This should help my knees and allow my body to change into a fat pumping machine instead of a fat storing machine. It's a matter of taking control of my insulin sensitivity, and building up my HDL (the good stuff).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;With some chronic aerobic exercise (5 to 10 minutes at a time) 6 times a day...with a gentle beginning for all you docs...I will lower my systolic blood pressure, shrink my waist, lower my weight, and improve my metabolic syndrome. While improving my endurance to 1 hour per day non stop.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'll get my blood results from Doc V. and post them up here as a measure of success (I hope).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'll have to get Ellen, from &lt;a title="Tuesday's with Edie blog about caregiving and coping." href="http://blog.seniorsafety.com/public/blog/95419"&gt;Tuesday's with Edie&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;to help me improve my food intake. She's a great cook (and my personal chef...I'm a lucky dog). More vegetables, more fruits, grains, nuts, seeds. Less beef, more fish, lot's of beans.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Eric, if you feel like weighing in, go ahead. I can use all of the help I can get.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p /&gt;</Description>
