Are doctors salesmen, pill pushers, or just bored with their job?

I have a beef with the medical community.For the most part, I find doctors disinterested, not necessarily knowledgeable, and having more interest in a minimum of time being spent with me the patient.I have been mistreated with Prednisone for 3 1/2 years for <a title="What is Polymyalgia Rheumatica? I had to drag myself to many different specialists until I could find good men and women, who were doctors that understood my needs. I really had <a title="What is Rheumatoid Arthritis? How can it be treated? What are the symptoms? As a senior, am I at risk?" href="http://www.mayoclinic.com/invoke.cfm?objectid=09CF7868-4035-4B73-907328F854F7F0A3">Rheumatoid Arthritis </a>and needed to be treated with Methotrexate.I simply wanted to know what was wrong with me and to have the doctors answer all of my questions and my fears.Where are the doctors of the 50's? They actually came to your home and helped.Okay, that's not quite economical anymore, nor efficient. How about caring enough to treat our souls and minds, as well as our bodies?There are great doctors to be found. Like all occupations, only about 20% of the doctors are good. It's even more difficult to find a good doctor that cares.They can't just look down at your chart in their sterile cubical, rarely making eye contact, just being pill pushers. Remember how you wished Dr. Welby was your dad?  I agree doctors have a difficult job and insurance companies make it even more difficult.Find your Dr. Welby. He still lives.Just because a senior is older and sicker, they still need a caring physician. Healing is far more rapid when your loved one is treated with the respect they deserve.
